Ok, y’all, sorry for the delay. I couldn’t post because we were to busy living it up! And I haven’t taken hardly any pictures because I miss too much of real life when I’m looking through a lens.
We arrived in Spain with no problem. The kids did great with the flight and we had an easy time finding our Airbnb. Btw, Airbnb has been such a blessing for us. Our hosts have all been super helpful and have given us lots of insider info on local shops and restaurants. And I don’t think a hotel with 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen and laundry would be in our budget.
Madrid was tons of fun. The kids played in loads of great parks and Craig and I enjoyed getting to know a little of the city. My favorite activity was going to see flamenco. The dancing was beautiful and exciting and the singing was so emotional and raw. Really amazing. Another cool thing we did was taking in the big football(soccer) game at a little bar near our apartment. It started at 9:30 which is really late for the kids to be out so they felt very grown up. All the patrons were extremely enthusiastic to say the least. We made friends with the guys next to us and they were more than happy to explain all the in and outs/strategies of the game and to convince us which team and players we should be rooting for.
We spent a lot of time at the parks letting the kids play. It was really great for people watching and giving Craig and I a chance to talk as well. Our favorite was parque de San Isidro. It had an incredible play structure made with logs and rope nets that looked like art.
We did a ton of other stuff too but that’s what I’m coming up with right now. Craig will surely add more. We decided to cut our stay a little short and come to Portugal where we are now. We are in Lisbon I have that ridiculous falling in love smile on my face I just can’t wipe off. We’ll be here 5 days then taking the train to Porto. Talk to ya soon, friends!
